"Lending Hands to me
is where the unexpected lifestyle changes can
be met." -Renita B., daughter
of former Lending Hands participant
“My
wife and I have been married 53 years. She
was diagnosed with Demenia or Alzheimer’s
back in early 2003. It isn’t fair to
the caregiver when your spouse is put in a nursing
home. Your life at that time has ended with
her or him which ever. But you want all the
right things for your spouse and it is a decision
that is up to the one that is left.
Well
I am 74 years old and I can’t get around
as good as I did 25 years ago, so I go to this
facility call Lending Hands Adult Day Care. This
place is next to home. Part of my care through
this is through the VA, because of being a veteran.
You get your noon meal, your grooming including
bathing and some laundry. All the caregivers
at this place are real special. They care
for you above and beyond. They are loyal
and would bend over backward for you. My
caregiver is a real joy to talk to and she will
worry about you if you do not show up that day.
They worry about your meds you take and if you
are taking them right. Also they will take
some time to play cards with you if no one else
cares to play cards. I can sum this up by
saying, I love them just for being there.”

"My wife
was a client of Lending Hands. I would recommend
Lending Hands to anyone who needs or wants the
type of care they offer. The service is great
and the staff is excellent.”

“I
have served on the Lending Hands Board twice
during it's time of service. Lending
Hands provides a service that is needed now
and will be desperately needed as the number
of older people increase.Lending
Hands has always served first with its heart
and hands, our clients are a reflection of
that.”
